The Century Edgewood Lions Club has been serving Eastern Harford County for over 50 years, Our work is far from done. Some days the challenges that face our communities seem ever greater. Our county still has too many families who have yet to share in the opportunities and blessings that mark our own lives. Blindness, hearing loss, and diabetes continue to attack and afflict many in our communities. Through service to our friends, our neighbors, and our communities, the Century Edgewood Lions seek to stand in the breach between hope and hopelessness.
Until the blind can see, and the deaf can hear, and all our families can cherish the “blessings of liberty”, our mission remains: We Serve.
We cannot finish the mission alone. The task ahead remains great, and we need great people to help fill the breach. President Bush, in his State of the Union address, challenged every American to give 4000 hours of service over the course of their lifetimes. President Bush—a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow—recognizes that greatest of American virtues: service not as obligation, but privilege: The privilege to share in extending to every human being the freedom to live a full and prosperious life, enjoy the fruits of their liberty, and pursue happiness.
If your heart seeks to serve; if you truly want to impact the lives of countless others here and around the world, join a Lions club. Serve with us.
