Community Outreach -- On behalf of the club, King Lion Tom Hammen presented a check to Presdient Deb Merlock, Greater Edgewood Education Foundation (GEEF) at the Edgewood Clubhouse. The Foundation strives to make dreams into realities by providing students and their families the tools and resources necessary to support student achievement and success.

After the August 9th meeting, a check was also presented to the Extreme Family Outreach Organization. Marilyn Gambrill and her husband, Steve (president of the organization) had been guest speakers at the meeting. Those funds were also used to purchase school supplies for Edgewood students.

General Information -- Lion Bob Sullivan was presented with a Past President's Pin for his service to the club. Maybe he should three of them?

Charter Night -- Several members of the club attended the Naylor Winery for Charter Night. It was a beautiful summer evening of music, dancing and conversation. Thanks to Lion Mary for planning another successful event.

Upcoming Event -- Although it seems early, Christmas will be here before you know it! Be sure to put the Christmas Luncheon on your calendar. Lion Mary has scheduled it for Sunday, December 5th at 1 p.m. It will be held at the Bayou Restaurant.
